Data localization is adopted to give countries increased control over the data belonging to their citizens and residents in the interest of enforcing data protection regime set by the country and to secure the critical interests of the nation-state. The deadline by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for fin-tech firms to house data only in India has already lapsed. In this context, the World Trade Center Kochi is organizing a seminar on “Data Localization and it’s Efficacy”.
