Role of IoT in Smart Infrastructure for Sustainable Urban Development

On the occasion of World IOT Day (9th of April), World Trade Center (WTC) Kochi in association with NASSCOM organised a talk on “Role of IoT in Smart Infrastructure for Sustainable Urban Development”. Mr Bavil Varghese, Director – Neona Embedded Labz spoke on the subject. Mr Varghese spoke about Smart energy, Smart waste management, Smart water, Smart buildings, Smart mobility and Challenges in smart infrastructure. He also touched upon Sensory Overload, Battery Overload and Data Overload. Mr.Varghese stressed on the need for smart cities and explained how the IoT devices can be integrated into it. He concluded with the challenges faced by the Government and Companies in rolling out smart cities in the country and also the challenges IoT industry is facing in general. The event was attended by representatives from the industry, IoT Startups, Electronics Startups, Data Analytics experts and Big Data Analytics companies. Mr Vivek George of WTCK delivered the opening remarks and Mr Sujith Unni, Regional Head NASSCOM gave away the memento to the Speaker. This event was featured on the World IoT Council list of events.
